Some students of Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State staged a not-too-peaceful protest yesterday to express their displeasure over epileptic power and inadequate water supply which have been plaguing  the university for some time now.


What also made the youths angry is “unnecessary rules and regulations” being made by the school management, plus plans to increase the school fees.
“Bowenites live by rules, sleep by rules, and eat by rules, but not anymore,” an anonymous student said.
During the riots some of the school’s property was destroyed, vehicles and chaplain's home were vandalized

While the students were on rampage, the school security staff escaped. The arrival of police cooled down the heat of the protest.
Bowen University is a private university owned and operated by the Nigerian Baptist Convention
