DJ Khaled Drops 'I Got the Keys' Featuring Jay Z and Future; Shade Against Drake?

           

DJ Khaled dropped hit latest single, "I Got the Keys," featuring the biggest names in the music industry, Jay Z and Future, after the 2016 BET Awards on Sunday, leaving some to wonder if Jay Z was throwing shade at Drake.

The 40-year-old American record producer revealed the music video for his song "I Got the Keys" from his about-to-be-released album, Major Key, according to Time.

The music clip was made dramatically in a black and white setting featuring DJ Khaled, Jay Z and Future sporting formal attire. The video also featured cameos of other Hip Hop stars: Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Fabolous, A$AP Ferg, Busta Rhymes, Swizz Beatz and Yo Gotti. In the video for "I Got the Keys," the group of Hip Hop royalty dealt with a group of prison guards. However, Hov and Future were the only ones who are singing the song while giving their known unique styles in between DJ Khaled's plugs.

If one were to listen carefully to Jay Z's distinctive lines, they would hear him talking about his wife, Beyonce's Lemonade. The 46-year-old entrepreneur, too, got a little shady over Drake as some of the verses in the song were unconsciously pertaining to the "Hotline Bling" hitmaker, MTV reported.

"N***as always asking me the key / Till you own your own, you can't be free / Till you're on your own you can't be me / How we still slaves in 2016?" Jay Z rap-up his opening lines.

This might be his response to Drake's January song, "Summer Sixteen." To recall, the track has a line, "I used to wanna be on Roc-A-Fella, then I turned into Jay."

The single wasn't officially part of the Canadian rapper's LP, Views. This was also different from the first time that the two rappers exchanged subconscious pokes with one another.

Drake's decision to remove Jay Z's quick appearance on Views made the issue between the two worsen. Bear in mind, the 29-year-old actor tried his best to include the investor-husband-of-Beyonce on his Views album but he only gave him two lines.

"Jay didn't really do a verse. Really, I just was trying to get 'Ye on it first. 'Ye just kind of sent it to me like that, 'Jay kinda just did my first few lines for me and that's how we flexed it," Drake said.

Jay Z got another verse for Drake on "I Got the Keys:" "Real life I'm like Hov / Real life I'm life goals / In real life, they're like me? / In real life, I'm like, 'No,'" he sang.
