Super Eagles and Watford FC forward, Odion Ighalo
has admitted that the death of his father was one of the factors that
affected his scoring form in the second half of the English Premier
League last season.
The 26-year-old striker, who netted 13 goals for his club side in the
first half of last season’s EPL campaign went on seven-game goal
droughts twice, from February 6 to March 13, and March 19 to May 8.
Odion however refused to blame the development solely on the distress his father’s death caused him.
‘The second part of last season was not really good for me
because I was going through so many challenges which really affected me
but I don’t want to give that as an excuse,’ Ighalo told Complete Sports.
The former Udinese striker also went on to say strikers who earn more than him suffered the same fate last season.
