Tribunal: Validation Of Gov Bello’s Election, Reflection Of People’s Feelings

        Governor Yahaya Bello: names commissioners
The   ruling   of   the   Kogi   State   Election Petition   Tribunal   validating   the    election   of   Governor   Yahaya   Bello   has   been   described   as     “the true feelings of majority of Kogi indigenes.”

An   elder   statesman and former    national chairman of defunct People’s Front during   General Ibrahim   Babangida’s administration,   Dr.   Faruk   Abdullazeez stated this   in Abuja, yesterday.
He said, “We in Kogi are very pleased with the verdict     which confirmed that Governor Yahaya Bello was validly elected    by the good people of Kogi State”.
The elder statesman noted that the pronouncements of the    court, proved that there was no intention ab-initio on    the   part   of   the   All   Progressives   Congress   (APC)   to   do   anything    outside the law as regards Governor Yahaya Bello’s election.
With the tribunal   ruling, Faruk, a medical   doctor by training,     therefore urged all Kogi indigenes to come together and support     the governor in the task of moving he State forward.
He said   that   what the   state   needed most was   peace   and     cooperation of all the people to enable the governor focus on    harnessing   the   potentials   of   the   state   so   as   to   change   its    economic fortunes for the better.
The   elder   statesman   advised   those   who   might   still   be   nursing    some grievances to see the emergence of Governor Bello    as   a   divine   intervention   given   the   circumstances   of   his    appearance on the political stage.
He warned that nothing should be done to draw back Kogi into    the one sided nature of its politics which had for long seen the    governorship seat rotating only among the Kogi East Senatorial     district at the detriment of other ethnic groups.
