Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, says he will speak to N’Golo Kante,
before deciding whether to include him in his starting line-up against
Roma in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Kante has been out of action since the beginning of October, since he
picked up a hamstring injury while on international duty with France.
He however trained with the first team prior to Saturday’s win over
Bournemouth and again on Monday, raising hopes that he could be fit to
feature at Stadio Olimpico.
But with a crucial Premier League match against Manchester United to
come on Sunday, Conte is wary of rushing Kante back into action before
he feels ready.
“I think it’s very important, in this moment, to speak with the player and then see his sensation [feeling],” Conte said.
“I was a player and you know very well that, after an injury, above
all a muscular problem – a bad injury – it’s very important to listen to
the player and what are his sensations and then make the best decision
for him, for the team. For sure, tomorrow, we’ll try and make the best
decision,” he added.
