Jose Mourinho’s side have made a slow start to the season, winning only four of their first eight matches, thereby facing the prospect of falling 10 points behind the leaders if they lose at the weekend.
Giggs, though, believes United’s 3-2 victory over Newcastle at Old Trafford prior to the international break shows just why undefeated Chelsea cannot afford to be complacent going into the fixture.
“There's lots being spoken about Manchester United and Jose Mourinho, but if you go back to the last game against Newcastle then them coming back like that you'd hope would give them massive confidence,” the Old Trafford legend told Sky Sports.
“This is the period that United need to be getting up for the games and I wouldn't be surprised if they come through this period pretty well because they are capable of playing against and matching the good teams. “With the attacking ability they've got they've always got a chance.
