The hip-hop scene is no stranger to feuds. Some of the more famous beef include the ones between Tupac and Biggie or Nas and Jay-Z. The feud between Kanye West and Drake has
become one of the better know hip-hop beef. They sometimes seem to flip
flop back and forth. But in the end it always comes down to conflict
when it comes to these two. Now Drake is dishing out shade yet again.
This time, he’s insulted West’s music.
This isn’t a new beef. The two rappers have been going at each other publicly since at least 2016,
possibly earlier. The feud went public when West ranted about Drake on
stage. West told fans that Drake and DJ Khaled had paid radio stations
to play their song, “I’m On One.”
It’s
true there were possible signs of a feud before this. Fans noticed
some song lyrics of Drake’s that seemed to reference West. However, the
2016 San Pablo incident opened the floodgates. The two have basically been feuding ever since.
The
fight got nasty when West brought Drake’s son into it. Up until that
point, things had been relatively tame for a hip-hop beef.
In 2018, however, West produced a song by rapper Pusha T
that hit Drake hard. Lyrics alleged that Drake doesn’t write his own
music, and it also revealed Drake fathered a son with a former porn
star.
In response, Drake dropped a track with lyrics that hinted at an intimate relationship between Drake and West’s wife: Kim Kardashian.
In
the song “In My Feelings,” Drake included the line “Kiki, do you love
me?” In this case, Kiki is supposedly Kardashian. Drake and the reality
TV star allegedly had a relationship before she started dating West.
