Kanye West, Drake Fire Back at Kid Cudi After Diss: ‘We Are Two Black Men in a Racist World’

After Kid Cudi laid into Kanye West and Drake in a Twitter rant Wednesday, the latter two responded at separate concerts that night. While Kanye’s response came off more emotional, Drake let the shade do the talking.

The beef began when Cudi tweeted to let followers know about his many haters in the music industry.
Then, he took a hit at ghostwriting MCs.
Last year, Meek Mill accused Drake of engaging in the practice in a series of tweets that summer.
“Stop comparing drake to me too,” Mill posted at the time. “He don’t write his own raps!”
Cudi stated he was done dealing with anyone who used hidden contributions in their songs.
After proclaiming “the fake ones won’t last much longer,” Cudi stated other MCs “worry about” him because he didn’t care about their “corny” actions.
Additionally, he gave a shout out to rappers like ASAP Rocky and Travis Scott.
And called out the “jealous chicken-hearted” ones, too.
Once the rapper-actor deemed himself “the culture,” he explained why he remained silent for so long.
Then, after declaring he already has taken over, he lashed out at Drake and West.
Cudi accused the two of staying close with him after seeing how “powerful” he is alone.
Cudi shared he stayed “loyal to those who haven’t been to me” out of fear but declared that ended.
The Need For Speed star encouraged followers to “use your voice” if they agreed with his message.
Ultimately, he ended his nearly hour-long Twitter spree by thanking his “supporters and true ones.”
At West’s Saint Pablo Tour stop in Tampa, Florida, E! Online reports he had this to say:
“Do you know how many people wish they could be signed to GOOD Music, get their life changed, have an opportunity?” he said to the crowd of his former protégée. “Never forget that! I am so hurt. I feel so disrespected. Kid Cudi, we are two Black men in a racist world.”
“This ain’t the end of the Malcolm X movie. I’m out here fighting for y’all creators, artists, independent thinkers.”
Time reported Ye also got narcissistic.
“Kid Cudi, don’t never mention Ye name,” he said. “I birthed you. We all dealing with that evil s— all the time. Don’t ever mention ‘Ye name.’ Don’t try to say who I can do songs with. You mad ‘cause I’m doing songs with Drake? Ain’t nobody tellin’ ‘Ye who to do songs with. Respect the god.”
But Drake did not seem nearly as bothered about the diss. At his Summer Sixteen tour stop in Oakland, California, E! Online reported the Canada native offered a take on O.T. Genasis’ “Cut It.”
“Boy, you getting way too high, you need to Cud-it,” Drake said. “I heard boys were talking down today. Shout out to my brother Kanye West. We both got sold-out shows.”
